One teacher believed in her when many did not. Mrs. Mahony, her first-grade teacher, inspired her to overcome obstacles with faith. Following the advice, "Practice, practice, practice, and you can achieve anything," she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Sacred Heart University. She then obtained certification and a Master of Education in Elementary Education (K-6).
Following her certification, she began her career at Burr Elementary School. After gaining experience there and witnessing both the challenges and advantages of public education for PreK-5th grades, it opened her eyes to the experiences that educators in her field face every day.
Building on this foundation, she became a K-6 substitute teacher. She leveraged her Spanish minor to assist English learners, facilitate parent conferences, and deliver language instruction, highlighting the continued relevance of her academic background.
Her expertise as a substitute led to a Long-Term Spanish Substitute position at Fairfield Public Schools from 2017 to 2018. She managed fifteen classes across three schools, collaborated on lesson plans, and demonstrated reliability to administrators.
She engaged students by facilitating the game “Quien es Roberto,” giving Spanish clues about a mystery person. She used clues like colors, clothing, hobbies, and conversation, and students guessed the identity after receiving three hints.
During the second half of the 2019 academic year, she led 21 classrooms as a Long-Term Spanish Substitute Teacher, evaluated over 500 students, and memorized every name, matching the typical school body of a Fairfield Public School.
When the pandemic began in 2020, she shifted to K-8 tutoring as a 'Remote Quarantine Teacher' in Trumbull Public Schools in 2021-2022, quickly adapting to digital learning while supporting 1,800 students and families. She increased engagement by 75% and achieved a 99% satisfaction rate among parents and students.
The following year, she taught second grade at Frenchtown Elementary—her favorite level. Through reading, math, and science journaling, she watched students flourish, confirming her belief that with the right resources and time, even greater gains are possible.
Motivated by these experiences, she founded Little Yellow Beehive in 2024 and created a curriculum that enables learners to complete reading assignments independently. Her resources, including upcoming handbooks, help students build lasting learning habits and establish supportive communities. Under her leadership, Little Yellow Beehive delivers practical educational solutions that enhance student engagement and independence.
Bianca Boudreau expands her literacy workbooks nationwide. Her five-year goal is to build a platform that empowers educators, raises student achievement, and inspires families by providing accessible, practical resources to improve reading outcomes and broaden educational opportunities for all students. Committed to shaping the future of learning, she strives to ensure every student can succeed.
